On the Basis of Sex is a new film of a biographical drama. The film is directed by Mimi Leder, the director of Deep Impact and The Peacemaker.
The film is about the biography of the American lawyer and one of the nine judges of the Supreme Court of the United States Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Felicity Jones. She was one of the first women to fight against sexism and tried to make a career in a male-dominated world. Together with her husband Martin (Armie Hammer) she goes into battle against the system and tries to ensure equal rights. If she knows how to win, she can do a lot for global women's rights and emancipation.
This film has an interesting story about how a woman fights against sexism and thus helped in the fight for equal rights.
The film is unfortunately a bit too late in the cinemas, because last fall there was also a documentary about Ruth Bader Ginsburg. This documentary plays a better role in the life of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, because in this new film they concentrate mainly on Ruth's big case against the system in the fight for equal rights.
Although Ruth Bader Ginsburg played her own role in the documentary of last fall and contains real images of her, Felicity Jones manages to play the role in her own way in this film. Together with Armie Hammer she has a good chemistry and so they know how to carry the film together despite the fame.
